The 100th anniversary of the Pedagogical Library in Toruń (1921-2021)

Abstract

In the 2021, Biblioteka Pedagogiczna (The Pedagogical Library) im. gen. bryg. prof. Elżbiety Zawackiej in Toruń celebrated the centenary of its existence. The anniversary became an occasion and, at the same time, an inspiration to undertake many initiatives, the recipients of which were mainly teachers, students, pupils, and inhabitants of the region. The Pedagogical Library in Toruń has a long and interesting history. It is an important institution on the educational map of Toruń and the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. It provides its services primarily stationary, at the same time trying to expand its educational offer with remote offers. In the jubilee year, the Pedagogical Library in Toruń prepared and implemented many events, both independently and in cooperation with various institutions. The text presents the activities undertaken in the jubilee year, which also became the background for showing the broad spectrum of the library's activity in the local environment.
