The book presents focuses on the role of libraries in building, developing, and strengthening the social capital.Libraries, as a place of integration for readers or, more broadly, entire communities, may also help develop the capital, becoming informal centers of public life. It is not without reason that, in social surveys, they are called meeting places, social places, public places. In contemporary research on social capital, the dominant thesis is that its development is possible thanks to trusting in relations networks.
