Ghostwriting and Guest authorship
"Studia Podlaskie" adheres to the principles of good scientific practice and the ethical standards applicable to scholarly publishing. In order to prevent instances of research misconduct, the Editorial Board undertakes measures aimed at identifying and eliminating cases of ghostwriting and guest authorship. Ghostwriting refers to a situation in which a person who has made a substantial contribution to a publication is not disclosed as an author or co-author and is not acknowledged in the publication. Guest authorship (honorary authorship) occurs when authorship is attributed to a person whose contribution to the publication was negligible or non-existent, despite being listed as an author or co-author. The Editorial Board requires authors to disclose the individual contributions of all co-authors to the preparation of a manuscript. The corresponding author, or the person submitting the manuscript, bears primary responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of this information. If no information regarding individual contributions is provided, it is assumed that all authors contributed equally. Authors are also required to disclose all sources of research funding, as well as the contributions of research institutions, organizations, and other entities that supported the preparation of the publication. Any detected cases of research misconduct, including but not limited to ghostwriting, guest authorship, plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or other violations of publication ethics, will be documented by the Editorial Board and addressed in accordance with accepted ethical standards. In justified cases, the Editorial Board reserves the right to notify the relevant academic institutions, employers, funding bodies, or other organizations responsible for maintaining research integrity.
