The article presents the main theses of Robert Boyle’s (1627–1691) philosophy of nature. Boyle’s views on nature can be described as a system of philosophical and natural science beliefs which constituted a non-scientific background for his research activity. This system influenced the development of the modern scientific paradigm and Boyle’s deliberations were a turning point in the history of philosophical reflection on nature.
