Games of Imagination in Jean-Paul Sartre's and Hans-Georg Gadamer's Theory of Artwork

The aim of the article is to analyse the notion of imagination in the context of the interpretation of an artwork. The author studies aesthetic themes in the philosophical works by Jean-Paul Sartre and Hans-Georg Gadamer because both philosophers contain similar intuitions in their texts. In the context of Sartre's and Gadamer's reflections, the author points to the key function of imagination in the process of understanding and giving meaning to a work of art.
