Remarks on Ethics as an Empirical Science

Abstract

The article clarifies the conception of ethics as an empirical science, arguing that it is grounded in primary value judgements analogous to perceptual judgements and that ethical systems may be investigated by an analytical rather than exclusively inductive method. Czeżowski interprets goodness not as a property of an object but as a modification of being expressed by a modal-type functor, presenting his account as a metaethical analysis of the structure of normative ethical systems.
