Ecological Intuition: Towards Metaethical and Cognitive Foundations of Life in a Biocentric Community

The article presents a proposal to justify the ethical assumptions of the so-called deep ecology. For this purpose, the characteristics of this philosophical trend in its positive and critical versions are presented. As part of the justification of ethical premises, the metaethical concept of Marian Przełęcki, the so-called inductive intuitionism, is indicated and arguments are made for the validity of its application in the area of deep ecology. The metaethical justification of the assumptions of radical biocentrism is strengthened by the results of findings on the mind-environment relationship proposed in selected concepts from the field of cognitive sciences.
