Recommendations for Authors
1. Submitting a duplicate
- Manuscripts submitted must be original (not previously published). Do not submit an article that is under review elsewhere (e.g., other journals).
- The author should not submit a manuscript describing essentially the same research divided into parts and published in other journals. The exception to this is if the paper presents a new objective and has new results and conclusions.
- Authors of manuscripts of original papers should pay attention to presenting the methodological part and having a discussion so that the reliability of the data can be checked.
2. Plagiarism
Plagiarism is copying someone else's work (or part of it) along with claiming authorship by concealing the origin of the plagiarized work. Authors are required to obtain written permission from the owner to present figures, photographs, graphics, etc. in the manuscript for which they do not hold the copyright.
3. Manipulation in footnotes (references)
Manipulation in footnotes (references) occurs when a manuscript contains references that are not in the references or references that are not related to the topic or irrelevant to the submitted work.
4. Conflict of interest
All authors should disclose in their manuscript information regarding conflict of interest (tangible, intangible). All sources of financial support for the manuscript/project should be disclosed.
5. Authors' contributions
All Authors of the manuscript should identify their own intellectual contributions according to the accepted criteria and approve the final version of the manuscript.
6. Acknowledgements
Contributors who do not meet the criterion of authorship but who have contributed in in any form to the manuscript should be listed in the acknowledgments.
7. ORCID numbers
We recommend the use of ORCID numbers by the authors, which facilitate the identification of authors and co-authors of scientific publications.
Recommendations for reviewers
- Reviewers prepare an evaluation/review on a volunteer basis in accordance with peerreview principles. They should not accept a manuscript if they feel that the subject matter of the study does not relevant to their specialty or interest. Reviewers will prepare the assessment/review within two weeks.
- All manuscripts received for evaluation/review must be treated as documents confidential. They may not be shown or discussed with others without authorization from the Editor.
- Evaluations should be conducted in an objective manner. They should always attempt to provide detailed and constructive feedback to help authors in improving their manuscript.
- Author(s) and Reviewers do not know each other's identities ("double-blind review process"). In case such a situation occurs (knowledge of identity), the reviewer must sign a Declaration of no conflict of interest. A conflict of interest is defined as occurring between the reviewer and the author: a) direct personal relations (kinship, legal conflict), b) relations of professional subordination, c) direct scientific cooperation within the last years preceding the preparation of the review.
- The review must be in writing and end with an unambiguous conclusion as to acceptance of the article for publication or its rejection.
Recommendations to the editorial board
- The editors of a journal are responsible for deciding whether a submitted manuscript is within the scope of the journal's interest, whether it was prepared in accordance recommendations to Authors, and whether it should be published. Editors may consult with other members of the editorial team, as well as with Reviewers and Authors, in order to make decisions about publication.
- If there is a need to document the credibility of a submitted manuscript in terms of ethical activities, the Editorial Board has the right to obtain from the Author additional confirmation/documentation.
