Introduction. The subject of this study was the subjective assessment of patients’ pain after uterine fibroid removal procedures. The focus of the research was to compare the level of pain experienced by patients after laparoscopic versus traditional surgical removal of uterine fibroids.
Aim. The main objective of the study was to evaluate the subjective level of pain in patients after laparoscopic and open surgical removal of uterine fibroids.
Results. The average reported pain level among all respondents was 6.26, indicating a relatively high intensity of pain. In patients who underwent laparoscopic surgery, the average pain level was 4.82, while among those who underwent traditional surgery, it was 7.82. These differences were statistically significant (p < 0.001).
Conclusions. The average pain level reported by patients after laparoscopic surgery was significantly lower than traditional surgery. Even after pain management, although a notable decrease in pain levels was observed in all patients, the difference in average pain levels between the two groups remained evident. No significant differences in pain levels were found based on patients’ age or place of residence. Educational level also did not influence the perceived pain intensity.
