Abstract

Introduction. Urinary tract infections are recurrent. They are significantly related to the health behaviors presented by patients.

Aim. The aim of this study is to assess health behaviors and knowledge among patients regarding the prevention of urinary tract infections.

Materials and methods. The study was conducted among patients hospitalized with UTI. The research method used in this work was the diagnostic survey method. The research tools were an anonymous survey questionnaire and the IZZ scale. This method used a technique based on surveys. The study was based on an original survey questionnaire.

Conclusions: After a detailed analysis of the data using statistical methods, the following conclusions were formulated: The health behaviors of respondents hospitalized during UTI vary significantly depending on sociodemographic variables and BMI. Categories of health behaviors of respondents hospitalized during UTI vary significantly depending on sociodemographic variables, the presence of comorbidities and BMI. The categories of health behaviors of respondents hospitalized during UTI differ significantly depending on the occurrence of urinary tract infections. The categories of health behaviors of respondents hospitalized during UTI do not differ depending on their knowledge about the prevention of urinary tract infections.
