‘Let them write…’: the publishing activity of the Student Government of the Catholic University of Lublin in the last decade of the Polish People’s Republic

As a result of the law about censorship of 31 July 1981, the conditions of publishing texts in print somewhat changed. Internal prints of an organization were among texts which no longer underwent the preliminary control. Owing to this, numerous student magazines, published as internal prints of the university, sprung us like mushrooms in the Catholic University of Lublin in a small circulation. At least eleven of them were published by the student government or its sub-departments. The group included both magazines which appeared only once or a few times ( e.g. “Spojrzenia”, “Brzytwa”) and the ones which went beyond the university entourage (e.g. “BIS”).References
