The article presents the activities of the SS Land Office in Poznań (SS-Bodenamt Posen) between 1939 and 1945. This office, responsible for registering agricultural land for future German settlers, was an instrument of ‘land Germanisation’ in the Wartheland (the Warta Land). The study outlines the origins of the office’s establishment, the political and institutional conditions necessary for its operation, the personnel involved, the organisational structure, the range of its tasks, and the impact of its activities.
