Przedmiotem artykułu jest temat nowego exodusu w Ezdraszu i Nehemiasza w perspektywie narracyjnej. Po ukazaniu stanu badań w tym zakresie, autor analizuje miejsce motywu nowego exodusu w fabule obu ksiąg, by zweryfikować, w jakim stopniu stanowi on model narracyjny w nich wykorzystany oraz w jakim stopniu służy on zbudowaniu określonej tożsamości narracyjnej powygnaniowej wspólnoty Izraela.
