The article discusses the time and circumstances of creating a well-known seventeenth-century variant of a map of the Duchy of Pomerania together with the map’s cartographic sources and its role in Pomeranian cartography. Until now, the person mentioned on the map as Frid. Palbitzke has not been identified. The article reveals his identity, his role in preparing the map, and the purpose of its making.
