The works of the Formists creating between 1917 and 1922 reached beyond the scope of plastic arts. The artists connected with the group created poems and plays as well as graphic designs. Their abounding output gave dancing a special position. A representative of this form of artistic expression was Rita Sacchetto, the first wife of August Zamoyski, a sculptor initially connected with the Bunt [Rebellion] Group, and later with the Formists. Between 1918 and 1927 Sacchetto dwelled with her husband in Zakopane. Her avant-garde performances accompanied the exhibitions organized by the Formists. The productions created by her, Mumia [The Mummy] and Kokaina [Cocaine], as well as presentations of Formist dance became the source of inspiration for artists connected with the Formists. The works by Andrzej Pronaszko, Zbigniew Pronaszko, Tymon Niesiołowski, Jan Żyznowski and Jan Hrynkowski depicted dancing figures. They were characterized by large synthesis of from and simplification, which were to help the artists express the dynamics of dance and the impression of movement.
