the structure of spatial data, the spatial trend, the spatial autocorrelationAbstract
The article presents the problem of a proper identification of the structure of spatial data. It will be shown how the phenomenon of spatial autocorrelation causes mistakes in the economic analysis. Also, the impact of non-consideration of the spatial autocorrelation on the quality of the research conducted will be analysed. An additional purpose of the article is to increase the researcher’s awareness of potential dangers related to analyses of spatial data which, later, form the basis for the decision-making process.
