Abstract

Report on the fourth edition of the international archival lecture series “Konarski Lectures,” which took place on 16 October 2025. The event was organized by the State Archives in cooperation with Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Faculty of History and Archaeology. The special guest was Professor Anne J. Gilliland from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), regarded as one of the leading experts in the field of digital archival studies. Her lecture, entitled “Getting to Digital,” focused on the transformations brought about by the digital revolution in archival theory and practice, including the digitization of archives, the motivations and challenges associated with implementing new technologies, and perspectives for the further development of archival activity in the digital environment.
