The article is devoted to a very popular and award-winning publishing series “Czytam sobie” by Egmont publishing house. The series is intended to facilitate the learning of reading for children aged 5–7 years and stimulate their reading interests by providing texts of high literary quality and varying levels of difficulty (adapted to subsequent stages of learning to read). The article discusses the detailed assumptions of the series and then analyses its editorial model and the structure of its publications. The specific educational goal determines both the content and form of the works (their length, linguistic and formal-structural shape) and the form of making them available to the novice reader. In small, handy, illustrated books, the literary text is enclosed in numerous materials, which not only facilitate its reception, but also have an additional cognitive, educational, motivating and emotionally engaging function. The specific solutions used in the series have been evaluated from the perspective of the methodology of learning to read and editing standards for children’s books.References
