- Quoted passages are not preceded by an ellipsis;
- The sources written in Cyrillic are given in transliteration, in the footnote, it is allowed to use the Cyrillic alphabet
The spelling of names and surnames
- We recommend giving the original form of names and surnames, in exceptional cases (e.g. Waszyngton, Cyceron, Majmonides, etc.) the Polonized version established by Polish tradition is allowed;
- The names of the people quoted for the first time should be given in full; in other cases, we use the initials of the first name or only the surname. In footnotes, we only give initials and surnames, always without academic, professional, or family titles.
The spelling of dates and numerals
- The adopted way of writing the day date: July 15, 1410
- In the absence of a day date, the month should always be in words, e.g. in March 1825.
- The terms “year”, “century” before the date - developed, e.g. in the 15th century, in 1095, after the date - abbreviated, e.g. in the 15th century, in 1095.
- No figures are used in terms such as “second half”, “eighties”
- The way of writing numbers with the use of abbreviations: thousand, million, billion, e.g. 2 tys., 5 mln, 10 mld
We use generally accepted abbreviations, e.g. etc., and others.
The bibliography should be divided into two parts:
1) manuscripts and unpublished materials,
2) printed sources and literature on the subject
We use simplified footnotes.
