The history of the Minor Redemptorist Seminary in Torun reflects the dynamic growth of the congregation in the interwar period. Despite the harsh material and social conditions, the staff and the students were doing their best to fulfil generously the Redemptorist vocation: “soli Dei et studiis”. The formation process had many stages and the juniorate, which functioned as a minor seminary in accordance with the decrees of the Council of Trent, was the first of them. The institution served as private secondary school focused in Arts and Humanities whose alumni would be prepared for the Philosophical and Theological studies that would follow in the next stage of formation. This paper presents the history of the Torun Juniorate House from 1921 till 1939. It also makes references to the previous period since the founding of the institution in 1895 and to the events of the war campaign in September 1939. The article is based on the research of the documents of Roman and Polish collections as well as of the secondary literature.References
