The article discusses the theology of holiness according to one of the most eminent contemporary Orthodox theologians, working in exile, associated with the Institute of St. Sergius in Paris, Pavel Evdokimov. In the fi rst part, based on the Bible and patristic tradition, the article describes one thing: the holiness of God. Then, it introduces the anthropological aspect of God’s holiness: man, who, according to the intention of his Creator, is invited to participate in His unique holiness. The place of response to the invitation is the Church, where every baptized person realises his or her vocation to holiness.References
