Monadologia neurologica. An Interpretation of the Monadological Theory of Consciousness according to Oliver Sacks

In the paper, I analyze a book by Oliver Sacks, a British-American psychiatrist and neurologist. The main aims of this paper are: first, to show real connections between Oliver Sacks’s conception of the person and Leibniz’s theory of monadological consciousness. Second, I try to prove that the main principles of Leibniz’s philosophy (especially anthropology) best enable us to explain the essential elements of our experience, such as identity and memory.
