Focus and Scope
?Europa Orientalis? is a yearbook of international range which takes on the subject broad issues concerning acts of Eastern Europe and political, economic, ethnical, cultural relations as well as contemporary security and defense issues in this region (XX-XXI century). The periodical has been created in response to demand from representatives of polish and foreign research centres which research programs include Eastern Europe, Soviet Russia and present-day Russian Federation. Columns of ?Europa Orientalis? are filled with research articles, source materials, polemics, reviews and reports on the most important scientific and popular science events concerning Eastern Europe issues, including Russia. The periodical is also designed for the ones who are interested in the history of nations and states of Eastern Europe, their coexistence, mutual cultural influences and stereotypes which are present in a daily life. Historic memory and politics, military history and security issues will also play important role, both in the historical and contemporary context. The magazine is also a place where research results can be presented, as long as they concern international relations, defense and maritime security in the Baltic Region.
Peer Review Process
- All texts sent to the editorial office come under review procedure; it is assumed that sending the text means the author?s agreement on the established review procedure.
- Preliminary review, including evaluation of the form and the subject, is done by members of editorial team. The basis for assessing the text is verification if it fulfills requirements included in the document called: ?Guidelines for Authors?, which is available in ?About the magazine? part.
- After the preliminary acceptance from the editorial team, at least two independent reviewers are appointed to assess the text.
- Reviewers are chosen so as to avoid any conflict of interest between them and the author. Such situation includes direct personal relations between the author and the reviewer (family, legal, conflicting), subordination, close scientific cooperation in the last two years.
- Reviews are prepared in a written form and end with unequivocal conclusion regarding acceptance or rejection of the text.
- Authors are informed about the reviews conclusions ? except the reviewers names.
