Artykuł przedstawia programy wielokulturowe realizowane w pracy muzeów w północnej części stanu Queensland, w mieście Cairns i okolicy. W pierwszej części artykuł przedstawia zasady polityki zróżnicowania kulturowego sformułowane przez ICOM, jak również zasady polityki wielokulturowości, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem pracy muzeów, przygotowane w Australii w latach 1977-1992 przez polskiego socjologa, profesora Jerzego Zubrzyckiego. W drugiej części artykułu przedstawione jest sześć przykładów praktycznego zastowania polityki wielokulturowości w wystawach zrealizowanych w muzeach północnego Queensland z udziałem imigrantów z Chin, Polski, Papui Nowej Gwinei, ludności Hmong z Laosu oraz ludności aborygeńskiej. Tematami wystaw były m.in. historia imigrantów i uchodźców z Europy, Laosu i Chin, różnorodność miejscowych tradycji religijnych oraz prezentacja dziedzictwa kulturowego imigrantów.References
