Dr Jerzy Rohoziński, The Witold Pilecki Institute of Solidarity and Valor

Doctor of the Humanities, historian and cultural anthropologist, and Adjunct at the Center for Totalitarian Studies at the Pilecki Institute. His research interests include the socio-religious history of tsarist Russia and the USSR. He is the author of the following books: Święci, biczownicy i czerwoni chanowie. Przemiany religijności muzułmańskiej w radzieckim i poradzieckim Azerbejdżanie (2005); Bawełna, samowary i Sartowie. Muzułmańskie okrainy carskiej Rosji 1795–1916 (2014); Gruzja. Początki państw (2016); Narodziny globalnego dżihadu (2017), Najpiękniejszy klejnot w carskiej koronie. Gruzja pod panowaniem rosyjskim 1801–1917 (2018), and Pionierzy w stepie? Kazachstańscy Polacy jako element sowieckiego projektu modernizacyjnego (2021). Member of the Polish-Kazakh and the Polish-Uzbek Historical Commission. Awarded the Golden Badge of Merit from the Union of Exiles to Siberia. Co-author of documentaries “Camp No. 0331” and “One Breath from Death: The Last Deportation”.
