This paper aims to outline the main characteristics of philosophical anthropology created by Thomas Hobbes and to pinpoint its essential moments that peel away from all known theories about human nature. The metaphysics, epistemology and psychology created by Hobbes has been reconstructed in this paper. This contemplations are fundamental to anthropological theory. Hobbes in his contemplations states that human being from one hand aims to achieve constant growth of power and from the other hand has a strong fear of the death. Accordingly to him the human being is insatiable and selfish and wants to fight and win at all times. Hobbes interpreters – Voegelin, Strauss and Fukuyama - states that this thinker drifts away from the classical philosophy. Hobbes abandoned philosophy of Plato and Christian ideals to aim to achieve the greatest good and by doing that he redefined the main goal of human life as a result.
