Abstract

The aim of this article is to review and analyze what is known about the effects of physical activity on the physical and mental health of menopausal women, and to summarize general recommendations for women at this time.

Studies show that physical activity can lead to a reduction in the severity of symptoms associated with menopause. The enhanced quality of life is also due to the beneficial effects of physical activity on a woman's metabolism. Regular exercise leads to a normalization of lipid metabolism, a reduction in body fat, an improvement in bone density and, therefore, the avoidance of osteoporosis.
