Abstract

Agriculture faces the formidable challenge of feeding a continuously growing global human population. Current agricultural practices aimed at enhancing productivity often exert a considerable negative impact on the natural environment. A potential solution to this issue lies in regenerative agriculture, which utilizes more environmentally sustainable methods. One of the key practices within this alternative approach involves the use of enzymes and enzyme-producing microorganisms. It holds the potential to replace or reduce the reliance on environmentally harmful chemical compounds, as well as to remediate pollutants introduced into ecosystems due to conventional farming activities. The process of discovering novel proteins and organisms with applications across various sectors, including agriculture, is known as bioprospecting. This approach constitutes a crucial tool in the advancement of regenerative agriculture.
