About the Journal
1. Aims and Scope
KOSMOS publishes scholarly review articles presenting the current state of knowledge in various fields of broadly understood biology and at its interface with other sciences. Articles are prepared by specialists for readers interested in biological issues. The journal is primarily addressed to academic researchers, PhD candidates, and university students, as well as to teachers and pupils of secondary schools with a biological profile.
Our mission is to promote the correct use of the Polish scientific language. We publish articles mainly in Polish, although contributions in English are also accepted. Each article is accompanied by an abstract in both languages. All submissions undergo peer review as well as linguistic and stylistic editing. Articles published in KOSMOS are awarded 20 points according to the MEiN list of 1 December 2021.
At least once a year, KOSMOS publishes a monographic issue, prepared either by invitation of the Editorial Office or at the initiative of external authors. Such monographs are supervised by a distinguished expert in the given field, invited ad hoc as scientific editor. Monographic issues of KOSMOS are assigned an ISBN and receive 80 MEiN points.
2. Since 2021, KOSMOS has been published exclusively in electronic form, available free of charge online at http://kosmos.ptpk.org
3. Thematic issues commissioned and organised by external editors may be printed at the expense of the ordering party. The KOSMOS Editorial Office does not mediate in formal arrangements related to the printing of such issues.
