The text presents materials relating to the emigration of the population of Wejherowo County between 1877 and 1879, stored at the Gdynia branch of the State Archives in Gdańsk. These are reports from rural communes and manor areas, commissioned by higher authorities in order to investigate this then-increasing phenomenon. The reports provide insight into the scale of emigration, but also, thanks to their level of detail, the destination country and the reasons and motivations of those making such a significant decision.
