Abstrakt

From the beginning of the so-called 'war on terror', the combat mission of armed unmanned aircraft, which are performing air strikes on the positions of alleged terrorists is a widely discussed ethical problem. Various authors are trying to solve this problem by considering it on the ground of just war theory. The analyzes carried out indicate that, within the classical categories of the just war theory, it becomes problematic to provide an unambiguous answer to the question: when participation of combat drones in armed intervention is morally justified ? It seems that one of most interesting solutions is  to be the proposal of Harry van der Linden, who postulates that the moral justification for combat drone missions should be sought outside the war as such, and more specifically in the area of political and economic preparations for war.
