Journal History

The "Studies in the History of Philosophy" journal was founded in 2010 at the Institute of Philosophy of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.

In the years 2010-2012 (issues 1-3) the magazine appeared as an annual, exclusively in a printed version.

In 2012 the magazine successfully passed parametric evaluation and was placed on the list of scored magazines of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of 17 September 2012.

Since 2013 "Studies in the History of Philosophy" have been published in an electronic version on the Academic Platform of Magazines of the Nicolaus Copernicus University (http://apcz.umk.pl/). From that moment (2013) the journal is published as a free and open access on-line quarterly. All the archival texts published since the beginning of the journal’s existence are available within the same formula.

Moreover, in 2014 a new series of publications was launched (THE LIBRARY OF "THE STUDIES IN THE HISTORY OF PHILOSOPHY" JOURNAL), whose main purpose is to present archival source materials for the research on Polish philosophy. Thus far, four volumes have been published, containing archives and studies on the reception of Immanuel Kant’s philosophy in the Polish philosophy of the beginning of the 19th century. Full information on the series is to be found in the ANNOUNCEMENTS section.
