The recent activities of MNC’s, especially with regard to human rights abuses, have eff ected with increment of various norms, initiatives and standards of diff erent legal status in international law. The article discusses the most important initiatives and standards regarding multinational corporations with regard to human rights abuses. After analysing the content and applicability of those norms, in the second part of the article, the author presents the general classifi cation of the existing norms and their assessment. The last part of the article discuss the recent activity of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on the issue of human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises. The author presents recent reports and evaluate proposals and ideas regarding the solution of the problem.
