Dr hab. Anita Has-Tokarz is a professor at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, a literary scholar, bibliologist and information scientist, employee of the Institute of Social Communication and Media Sciences. She is the head of the Department of Informatology, Book Studies and Media Education. She conducts research on the book market for children and adolescents, children as recipients of books and media, reading and media culture of the young generation, pop culture and children’s culinary culture. A member of PS IBBY, the Polish Society for Media Education, the Polish Association of Culinary Tourism and others. Author of two monographs: Horror in contemporary literature and film (2010), Cookery books and culinary books for children and teenagers in Poland in 1945–1989. Texts- functions – contexts (2016) and numerous articles published in scientific journals and in collective works. She co-edited volumes: Around the book, the library and information – current state – challenges – perspective. Studies and Essays (2014), Homo legens or homo consumens? A reader and a book in the 21st century (2014), Cultural and educational functions of public libraries. Theory and Practice (2011). In 2009–2019, she was a scientific editor and member of the editorial board of the journal Folia Bibliologica.
