This article describes in detail the origin and territorial diversity of the old Dalmatian language. Etymological research indicates that majority of <em>language loans </em>in modern Adriatic Croatian dialects have their origins in: – Balkan Folk Latin; – Old Dalmatian; – Venetian dialect; – Italian literary language.
