Autorzy przedstawiają opis przypadku klinicznego chorej leczonej operacyjnie w Klinice Neurochirurgii, Neurotraumatologii i Neurochirurgii Dziecięcej Szpitala Uniwersyteckiego nr 1 im. dr
A. Jurasza w Bydgoszczy z rozpoznanym w badaniu histopatologicznym brodawczakiem splotu naczyniówkowego.

Słowa kluczowe: brodawczak splotu naczyniówkowego, nowotwór, ośrodkowy układ nerwowy, neurochirurgia.

Abstract

Choroid plexus papilloma is a rare cancer of the central nervous system, derived from epithelial cells of the choroid plexus of the ventricular system of the brain. In 50% of cases resolve the side chamber, and in 40% in the fourth chamber and 5% in the third ventricle. Choroid plexus tumors occur primarily in the first decade of life. The tumor produces cerebrospinal fluid, which contributes to hydrocephalus and brain edema. Histologically is built with papillary structures formed by the cylindrical shape of the cells resting on the basilar membrane.
