The paper strives to examine the issue of prison education among foreign prisoners. Performing any educational activities among confined foreigners, both vocational training as well as academic education, is especially demanding: on one hand because these activities are undertaken in the multicultural environment, on the other hand because they must come to terms with penitentiary regulations and conditions of isolation. The importance of educating inmates cannot be, however, overrated as it helps to overcome language and cultural barriers and is a presupposition to initiating any other correctional measures and a successful rehabilitation process. The paper presents some of the best practices carried out to approach and solve the dilemma in Polish penitentiary institutions.
