From Brno to Jihlava. Hussite Diplomatic Missions in 1419–1436The author embarked upon the topic of diplomatic missions dispatched by the Hussites in 1419–1436 to political and religious opponents and neighbours. Attention is drawn to two fundamental purposes of such missions: religious (intent on obtaining consent to learn about Hussite truths of the faith) and political (attempts at finding allies in the struggle against Sigismund Luxembourg, and from a certain moment – ways of putting an amicable end to the conflict). Jarosław Nikodem is interested in the following questions: the context of each mission, its composition, the mandate received by the envoys(whenever more detailed pertinent information is available), the destination of the mission, meeting places, proposals and responses, the course of the meeting and its ultimate outcome. The author also wrote about missions dispatched to the Hussites, which, as rule, denoted consent for a continuation of further negotiations.Pobrania
